Wordless Wednesday: Fun at Great-Grandma’s Farm

When I say “my family’s farm” I’m referring to the farm where I grew up, which is on my dad’s side of the family.  The majority of farm photos that I take are from that farm, where my parents and extened family live.  We visit often.

However, today’s photos are from my maternal grandparents’ farm, where my mom grew up.  Though Pa has passed away, Mema still lives there as the matriarch of the farm.  We visited her yesterday and had plenty of fun outside.

Both farms are about 5-10 minutes away from our house, in opposite directions.

Lucky you! Lucky little boy! We lived an hour from my grandparents’ farm and my boys loved going there when they were little.

  2. Photos like this make me miss my days on the farm so much. I grew up on a farm and it was such a wonderful experience. I wish my son could have the opportunity to raise chickens, run through cornfields, join the 4-H, pick apples off of his own apple trees, plant a garden the size of a house, and have a favorite climbing tree like I did.

Great photos – they really brought back some memories for me, especially the corn photo!

  7. Abbie,

These are beautiful photos and you are creating beautiful memories for Joshua and Mema. This just touches my heart as I can see you and your brothers in those same back-drops–playing ball under/over Mema’s clothesline, trip-trapping across the bridge, and splashing through mud puddles. Thank you for sharing!
